Standing Here Wondering Where To Go

이번 전시는 공간과 작가의 사진집을 잇는 구조로 이루어져 있다. 사진집 『Spicy Seaweed Popcorn』 은 2014년부터 현재까지 쌓아온 작가의 기억과 흔적의 결과물이다.
일상을 기록한 스냅샷과 영수증, 전단지, 손 편지 등 외부에서 유입된 사물들로 구성 되어있다.
현실에 대하여 작가는 “종종 환상에 불과하며 그 기억 속에서 비현실적으로 보이는 것이 더 현실적으로 그려진다.
때로는 그것이 너무 현실적이어서 그 경계를 구분하기조차 어렵다.”라고 말한다. 작가는 수집된 이미지를 책을 통해 재구성하며 새로운 ‘현실’에 대면한다.

⟪Standing Here Wondering Where to Go⟫ 전시 제목처럼 끊임없이 변화하고 예측 불가능해 보이는 현실은 가만 들여다보면 멈춰있다. 우리는 이 현실에 대해 사고하게 된다.

This exhibition is structured to connect the space and the artist's photo book. The photo book, "Spicy Seaweed Popcorn," is the culmination of the artist's memories and traces accumulated from 2014 until the present. It is composed of snapshots capturing everyday life, as well as external objects such as receipts, flyers, and handwritten letters. Regarding reality, the artist says, "Often, it is nothing more than a fantasy, and what appears unreal within those memories is depicted more realistically. Sometimes, it becomes so realistic that it becomes difficult to distinguish the boundaries." Through the reconstruction of collected images in the book, the artist confronts a new "reality." Just like the title of the exhibition, "Standing Here Wondering Where to Go," reality constantly changes and seems unpredictable, but upon closer inspection, it remains still. We will be to ponder this reality.
